Lego® Serious Play® is versatile

co-creative

With the Lego® Serious Play® process, you will jointly develop a new understanding of your project, whether it is new business models, a new culture, strategy or innovation.

experienceable

Ideas, thought models and visions are brought to life with LEGO models and remain in our memories.

comprehensible

Lego is not a toy here, but a prototyping material, so that ideas can be discussed and developed in a comprehensible way using the model.

What is Lego® Serious Play®?

LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) is used in companies, teams and also with individuals to encourage new ideas, improve communication and accelerate problem solving. In the workshops individually adapted for the customers by StrategicPlay®, the participants work on, for example:

  • New business strategies
  • You develop and optimize collaboration within the team
  • They analyze crisis situations
  • They develop solution concepts for this

With the innovative LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® process, unique, sustainable and practical solutions to complex questions are developed and implemented immediately. Large international companies such as EBAY, NOKIA and MICROSOFT are already using it to authentically formulate their brand identity, develop innovative ideas and strategies, support the formation of high-performance teams or effectively accompany change processes.

There are two main LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® processes:

  • Real Time Strategy for the Enterprise: Strategy Development
  • Real Time Identity for the Team: Optimize teams

StrategicPlay® has adapted and further developed these basic processes for a wide range of application areas:

  • Diversity: Diversity as a strategic success factor
  • Brand Identity: Developing a clear and unique brand identity
  • Project management: Start projects quickly and effectively
  • Project teams: Creating effective project teams and motivating them sustainably
  • Risk management: identifying risks and developing alternative strategies
  • Product development: Designing innovative products and services
  • Change Management: Starting change processes and implementing them effectively
  • Networking: Make conferences full of energy and actively involve participants

In addition, StrategicPlay® specializes in developing new applications for your individual goals.

The benefits of Lego® Serious Play®

LEGO® is fun and anyone can build with LEGO®. You don’t need any artistic or craft skills to express yourself (such as painting). LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® materials are particularly versatile and stimulate the imagination. And with LEGO®, three-dimensional representations are possible and everything that is built is reversible, rebuildable and adaptable.

Where does the Lego® Serious Play® method come from?

Developed by LEGO® in collaboration with the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne (IMD), the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method offers unique solutions to unlock the full potential and creativity of a team or an entire organization. LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is based on the latest knowledge in systems thinking, brain research, strategy and game development.

Fast and efficient solutions

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® process uses LEGO® bricks and allows you to get to the heart of the matter quickly. With LEGO® models as condensed but information-rich metaphors, even complex issues are presented in a clear, understandable and memorable way. And the safe – because playful – environment of the workshops makes it easy to discuss even critical points. The in-depth dialogue between participants enables better decisions to be made in less time. LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® shortens the development of innovative strategies to a few days of intensive joint work by the management team.

team building and team cohesion

A LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshop not only helps to develop innovative ideas and strategies, but also serves as a team building tool. Here, the team gets to know each other again in a different environment and atmosphere. The playful, creative exchange gives the individual team members a different insight into their respective ways of thinking and approaches. This makes it easier to interact with each other and complement each other’s ideas. In addition, shared activities and experiences of success strengthen the feeling of togetherness.

co-creative strategy development process

LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is a co-creative strategy development process that teams use to prototype visions and business models. During a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshop, all participants are 100% engaged and attentive for the entire duration. This is not comparable to normal meetings that dominate the everyday life of managers. The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® concept uses the human imagination to gain a deep insight into existing challenges and to develop new solutions. This unlocks a creativity that is all too often buried deep. This also makes radically new things possible.

Lego® Serious Play® is unbeatable for

  • Developing common visions, values and principles
  • To make complexity visible and to understand it
  • To create a new, clear and shared vision of the future of the product, brand or company
  • repositioning teams or areas within the company
  • Developing a common language and a common identity
  • to effectively improve teamwork
  • Finding effective solutions and ensuring their long-term success

Catrin Schreiber
Lego® Serious Play® Certified Facilitator Training - October 2019
"Thank you again for the great training, the extensive materials and the starter kit! Since I was so enthusiastic about the well-structured process and your training concept, I immediately followed the impulse and registered for the CoCreACT® training in January. My colleague (..) was a bit "jealous" after our last exchange or brainstorming session on a workshop design. She had done her LSP Certified Facilitator training elsewhere and noticed that your training input (including the great material) is much more substantial, especially in terms of background information, the workshop design and the facilitator tips, and that the insights from the training are clearly noticeable! That's a compliment :-). By the way, I'm particularly grateful to you for pointing out that the warm-ups can also be used as part of the task clarification - that really kills several birds with one stone!"
Oliver Winter
Lego® Serious Play® Certified Facilitator Training - October 2019
"I can recommend the Lego® Serious Play® Certified Facilitator Training to anyone who is interested in developing visions and strategies in a playful but serious way. Personally, the training gave me many new, surprising insights for my work with product teams. I'm really excited to see how it works in real life, so I'm particularly pleased about your offer of a coaching session!"
